History in play
The Diamond State Base Ball Club is a vintage baseball team located in New
Castle County, Delaware. Volunteers, playing primarily by the rules adopted in
1865 by the National Association of Base Ball Players, aim to show how the game

The club is based upon one of Delaware’s first organized baseball teams, which was formed as an amateur team in
Wilmington in September 1865, following the end of the Civil War.
